Adding his thanks to those of Mrs. Bartók for Heineman's generous gesture, saying the [Béla] Bartók is back home and that they are hopeful he will be strong enough for the trip to the Adirondacks or Colorado, adding that Bartók's illness is polycitemia and is complicated by other factors.

Joseph Szigeti (1892-1973) was an American violinist of Hungarian birth. He studied first with his father, then with Jeno Hubay. He settled in the United States in 1940 and became a citizen in 1951. His true strength was contemporary music, and he often forced concert managers to include contemporary pieces in concert programs.
